Beatles Costume

Considered being part of this fabulous four, the Beatles? When trying to come up with ideas for Halloween, the average person thinks about what he/she wants to be and in the process, misses out on many other possibilities. If you are in a group- particularly a group of four, going retro by donning the Beatles costume could quite certainly lend a hint of uniqueness to your idea for attire. More than four people also can carry off this group costume- you can always have groupies. If you are thinking there is limited flexibility with this costume idea, think again- you can decide amongst yourselves which group member of the four each one of you gets to be. Besides, although the initial group was together only for a decade, the band members themselves had a different look for each decade- the 60’s saw them sporting a black suit, black (thin) tie, white shirt, and a pair of black boots(their look changed quite significantly even during the ten years they were together). The 70’s on the other hand had them wear black or dark blue suit with a black or dark blue turtle neck shirt and light brown shoes and so on.

The four boys from Liverpool who made it big on the music (particularly rock and pop) scene- Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr are well recognized faces and names around the world even to this day. What is special about the Beatles costume is that the band’s immense popularity back in the day made them trendsetters and they were a major part of popular culture of their time. Dressing as the Beatles is a great fun way to honour the legends. The Beatles costume is actually very easy to carry off since it doesn’t take much of an effort. A basic idea of what the musician you are emulating looks like is what you need. The most important part of the Beatles costume and one for which you would most certainly have to visit a costume store is the wig. Once this has been taken care of, finding the right suits and shoes to finish the look is not particularly difficult. If you are being John Lennon, you can always go for a pair of his trademark John Lennon glasses, with the circular frame.

Which Beatles costume you’re going to have really depends on what era you are targeting. For something from the "Abbey Road" times, you will need a peace sign necklace, bell bottom jeans and leather sandals. Additionally, a shirt with a wide collar, or a printed "batik" shirt will be needed. If you are targeting the “BFF with the Maharaja” times, you’d have to go for costumes that come in bright colors like lime green, pink and light red. The costumes themselves come with signature Nehru jackets, which is a hip length coat which gives it the retro look. There are straps on the shoulders. As for trousers, they are of a matching color.
